Larrivee are producers of the highest quality acoustic guitars, rivaling the more familiar names of the likes of Martin and Taylor. Jean Larrivee has been producing guitars since the late '60s initially based in Canada and now based in Oxnard California. Renowned for his expert selection of timbers and faultless lutherie skills, Jean's guitars offer a hand finished immaculate instrument.

This Larrivee OM-40 is a limited edition of only a handful, made with Koa back and sides and hand selected Alpine Moonwood for the soundboard, this guitar offers depth of tone, endless resonance with warmth on the lower end and a sparkly high end, everything you could ever desire in an acoustic guitar. The Moonwood Spruce is, as the name suggests harvested at a specific time of night and year, makiing this an extremely rare tonewood. Felled in a specific alpine region in Austria this wood grows at particular seal level height, and is harvested at a waning moon, when the moisture content is optimum, a practice which has been producing the world’s finest spruce for over 200 years.

In comparison with Sitka spruce, Moonwood has a tighter grain and pale yellow appearance and a high resistence to humidity changes.

Left handed model will shortly be available.
