An incredible guitar for its size, with subtle, thoughtful relicing. Everything about this little guitar is a triumph!
The Atkin O model offers a deceptively big sound while being attractively compact. The small body, combined with the O’s shorter scale length, makes for an exceptionally comfortable guitar to hold and play. This model is characterized by a clear, focused tone that fingerpickers and flatpickers alike will love. This Atkin O 14-fret has a solid headstock and a 14th fret neck joint, providing all the accessibility of a standard size guitar.
An exceptionally pretty guitar with some of the best relicing we have ever seen. It feels like a guitar that has been taken good care of for 60 years or more, coupled with modern playability and reliability.
From the aging of the machine heads, the swept edge of the fingerboard, the subtle wear on the binding and pickguard to the understated lacquer checking, the relicing on this guitar is nothing short of brilliant. Some can feel crude, but not this O37. It's about as close as you'll get to a true vintage instrument's feel, without the worry of refretting and neck resets. It immediately feels at home in your hands, like you've been playing it for years. If this had been done by Martin in their custom shop, they would be adding thousands to the price tag.
Relicing aside, it's a superb sounding and playing guitar, with a rich and balanced tone for its size and surprisingly sturdy bass response. Fantastic for fingerpickers, country or folk players, but equally at home in any style.
Comes with Atkin's new alligator skin style hard case.
