The LAG magic begins in Bedarieux, Southern France where the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside is reflected in the beauty of the handcrafted instruments produced by Michel Lag and his team.

All the LAG MASTER employees are musicians, artists and artisans, so each guitar is assured an essence of each of these disciplines, and Michel has the final word by personally signing off each and every instrument.

The Hardware:

Quality is the prime concern at every stage of the manufacturing process, from the selection of woods and the relative drying and stabilization processes, to the premium painting and varnishing techniques.

The MASTER guitars use only the finest figured (Spalt, Flamed or Quilted) Maple on Solid, Book-Matched African Mahogany so the immediate aesthetic impact never compromises the overall tonal qualities. Each of the models are available in a choice of different colours or stains, with either a French Polish Gloss finish or a Bees-Wax Satin Patina. The combination of colour and finish type has been specially chosen to bring out the very best that the wood has to offer.

LAG have  insisted upon only the very best in hardware too with pickups supplied by EMG and DiMarzio; Frets by Jim Dunlop USA; Tremolos provided by Floyd Rose USA and Wilkinson; Machineheads by Gotoh or Schaller; and strings by Elixir.

Model Range:

The four iconic models available from the MASTERshop are JET, ARKANE, ROXANE and IMPERATOR.

The Jet is a great all-round performer with a definite nod to a historically classic design. The Arkane is an all-out Rock and Metal beast with stunning power and dexterity.  The Roxane is a smooth and curvy beauty that can sing like and angel but also turn dirty without breaking a sweat, and the Imperator is a single-cutaway stage animal with another nod to a classic, but with the unique and effortless style synonymous with LAG guitars.
