This is a vintage Epiphone Emperor – made in Korea (not to be confused with later Chinese models) so expect a quality guitar that plays as good as it looks. The internal label and serial number sticker are both missing but, this is unmistakably as a late 1980/1990's pre Joe Pass model guitar.
With a few scratches and the odd ding, this guitar has been played and loved. We have tried to photograph all wear of note. The scratch plate has been removed and is no longer with the guitar the gold plating has tarnished as one would expect with a guitar of this age. No fret issues with a super low and slick neck and fretboard, this guitar sounds as smooth as it plays. Currently strung with flatwound 13's.
This model pre-dates the later Joe Pass model, and it features a lightweight body with 5-ply binding, comfortable medium profile Maple neck with Rosewood board, decorative ‘vine of life’ headstock inlay, gold hardware, and Alnico Classic humbucker pickups which sound great.
