Here we have a beautiful and rare circa 1971 Gibson ES-335TD. This features the original Gibson T-Top pickups, embossed with "Gibson", first introduced in '71 which look and sound amazing.
This guitar plays superbly with a slim nut (39mm) and easy feeling neck. Even though it's a narrow nut, it doesn't feel cramped. The T-Top pickups respond beautifully, and sound composed, rich and precise. No muggy tone here!!
This ES335TD is original where it matters - but has had a few tweaks here and there. The finish has been stripped down at some point (causing the serial to become illegible on the headstock) so it has quite a light look to the now 'Walnut Stain' finish. It has recently had a lovely light liquid polish and shows its age beautifully. The trapeze has been replaced with a hard tail some time ago, and there is a repair to the body on the back (purely cosmetic, see pictures).
The neck features a volute, consistent with the year and a luxurious bound rosewood fretboard. Pickups are matching and have their Patent stickers on the reverse, the pots are difficult to get to but all looks original. An absolute beauty to play, the earthy but clear tone of this guitar will blow you away.
A great players' guitar, this has fantastic tone and is one of the easiest 335s to play we've ever had in - and mojo in spades!
Comes with a non-original hard case.
