This is a great example of the Gibson J-45; one of the most iconic acoustic guitars in music history.
The J-45 has never gone out of production since its introduction in 1942, and has a deserved reputation as a 'workhorse' guitar, with its fantastic balance of playability and versatile tone. Notable players include John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley.
This J-45 standard was completed in January 2008 in Gibson's Bozeman facility in Montana, and features the classic J-45 pairing of Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides, with a vintage sunburst finish. This tonewood combination makes for a powerful yet subtle tone that is exceptionally versatile. Be it bluegrass, folk, rock, pop or indeed any genre the J-45 will have you covered.
Its sloped shoulders and slim neck make for a very playable acoustic without sacrificing volume or sustain, with a rosewood fretboard and dovetail neck joint as standard.
At 10 years old this J-45 is played in, yet in excellent condition with only a few light cosmetic indentations here and there. It has a particularly sweet tone, typically well balanced as this model always is. It plays well with a low action, and also has a quality LR Baggs Element pickup system fitted with discreet soundhole controls.
Comes with its original hard case. A great example of an iconic guitar, it'll never let you down!
