This is an original 1962 Fender Precision Bass neck, stamp dated as shown. It has it's original frets, (which do show some signs of wear), the original nut and machine heads. One of the machine heads has at some point been repaired at an angle as shown.
The serial number on the neck plate is correct to the neck, so we suspect that this was reused from the original body. The pots and pickups are not '62's but, are potentially 60's era.
The body is of unknown origins but, is a good fit and the bass as a complete instrument does play well. The body has also had a lot of use and the photo's show it's battle scars! Possibly fiesta red, or a close copy, the scratch plate looks like an age relevant piece and has some damage where the truss rod has been adjusted, so this neck and body have been together for some time. The tone pot is working but is quite nondescript and may need replacing if preferred.
We have supplied as many photo's as possible to give a good idea of the condition of the neck and bass as an entire instrument.
These necks are now a truly rare find, this looks to be the only 1962 currently available in the world!
